Last Sunday, I visited Easy House
Vegetarian Restaurant for yum cha lunch. Yes, vegetarian two days in a row! I
have been to Easy House many times for dinner, but this was the first time I
went there during lunch for yum cha.
It was very different to the normal yum cha
at a Chinese restaurant. Not only because there was no meat in all the dim
sims, the variety of the dim sims were very different and inventive as
well. There were more steamed items,
which I quite liked.
We ordered several different types of
steamed dumplings as you can see from the pictures below.
|
Left: Deep fried Taro ball, Right: Panfried Vegetarian Spring Roll |
|
Clockwise from top: Vegetarian Dumpling, Coriander Dumpling, Vegetarian Beancurd Roll |
|
Panfried Radish Cake |
|
Panfried rice noodle with XO sauce |
|
Smoked Chicken (Beancurd) served with Chinese Broccoli (Kai Lan) - $14.80 |
|
Left: Pumpkin Dumpling, Right: Spinach Dumpling |
|
Stuffed Capsicums |
|
Vegetarian Siu Mai |
|
Fried Sesame Ball with Red Bean Filling |
I was very impressed with the quality and
taste of all the dim sims! It was definitely less oily compared to the normal
yum cha with meat. However, the food
served at Easy House during dinner time is quite oily. I much prefer the
vegetarian yum cha lunch over dinner.
There is limited space inside the
restaurant and the tables/chairs are quite chunky and big, creating a cramped atmosphere.
The décor is simple and clean, creating a casual atmosphere.
